The answer to this question depends on what one perceives as a drift go-kart. If we consider any kart-like vehicle with plastic inserts on the rear tires as a drift go-kart – then no, we are certainly not the first to come up with that idea. However, if by “drift go-kart” we mean a chassis developed from the ground up with a single purpose – to be an uncompromising drift platform accessible to everyone – then yes, it can be said that we are the first on the market with such a product. We do not underestimate the qualities of similar karts made by other manufacturers, but so far there is no equivalent to The Drift Kart in terms of steering system – namely, a steering rack with a 720-degree wheel rotation and a specially developed steering geometry that allows nearly 75-degree turning with drift-optimized precision. The adjustable cockpit ensures that The Drift Kart can transform from a specialized drift machine into family fun, accommodating drivers between 130 and 190 cm tall. In this sense – yes, we have invented and developed the first full-size drift go-kart on the market.
The production time for a single go-kart is up to 30 calendar days after payment for the order has been received.
The price of The Drift Kart is determined by all production costs. The major expenses involved in its manufacturing are:
- Chassis fabrication – sourcing tubular and sheet metal, laser cutting and bending of tubes, cutting and bending of sheet metal, welding, painting. This also includes the production of numerous turned parts as well as the manufacturing and assembly of our specially developed steering rack.
- Karting components – tires, rims, hubs, sprocket and brake disc carriers, clutch, rear axle, engine, braking system, seat, steering wheel, and others.
- Fasteners and machine elements – multiple bearings and bearing housings, specialized mechanical parts such as rod ends, and others.
- Assembly and preparation for transport – this operation alone takes one working day and includes not only the labor of our mechanic but also the transport packaging: a Euro pallet with a wooden frame to secure the kart, safety measures against transport damage, separate packaging of tires and rims, and everything else required for the initial use of The Drift Kart.
- Shipping.
Karting tracks are among the most suitable places to drive, with rental prices for access depending on each track’s policy. Other possible options are test grounds, parking lots, and old airfields. It is important that the surface does not have major irregularities (holes, bumps, cracks) or potential obstacles (curbs, poles, barriers, fences, etc.). Controlled access and the absence of traffic are also highly desirable factors to ensure safety – both yours and that of others.
Here is a short breakdown of the hourly costs:
- Fuel – 2 liters of gasoline A95 – about €3.
- Drift inserts – their lifespan is between 4 and 10 hours, depending on surface, driver’s weight, temperature, and driving style. Assuming an average of 6 hours and a retail price of €40.39, their cost per hour of driving is about €6.70.
- Depreciation – excluding damage from crashes or misuse, maintenance after 50 hours of driving is minimal and mainly includes oil change, chain lubrication, greasing the steering rack, and checking chassis and suspension fasteners. For our karts, we allocate €5/hour depreciation, which is sufficient to cover these tasks and potential replacement of minor components if needed.
This forms a total of about €14.70 per hour, though it can vary depending on the factors mentioned above.
Starting from October 11, 2025, The Drift Kart will be available for rent at our track located on the ring road in Shumen. Driving sessions will be available for purchase on our website in the section “Services → The Drift Kart Rental.”
Yes, but only if it is The Drift Kart. You can book the track during a free time slot of your choice through our website in the section “Services → Drift Track Rental.”
No. The Drift Kart was never designed for driving on public roads or in areas open to public use, except for exhibitions, automotive events, competitions, etc., and only on a secured track. We strongly advise against driving The Drift Kart on public streets, as this would be a direct violation of Article 6(1) and Article 8 of the Bulgarian Road Traffic Act.
